The spiral is a pattern that attracts me. The infinite curling and uncurling is dynamic and mysterious...the opening of a fern, the swirl of leaves in a whirl of wind. I also like things that turn into something else. Here the bird's feathers could be leaves, and its long neck eventually curls into a serpent or perhaps a Phoenix.
